Bad Blood Films
This indie horror feature needed a big opening scene. But the tight budget meant the stunt man could only perform a partial body burn, so we stepped in and augmented these shots using bespoke fire elements captured in our studio.
The Fall
Nobody’s Wolf Child
A single high speed live action shot composited into motion controlled background plates created with fibre fill and remotely fired flash bulbs.
As part of the 10th Anniversary celebration of LAIKA Studios' incredible stop motion feature ParaNorman we were commissioned to recreate the famous bathroom scene from the movie in live action.
This was a mammoth task requiring the design and build of a suspended set requiring up to 10 puppeteers, with elastic walls and flooring, rippling tiles, an exploding paper dispenser, a shaking toilet seat and some very questionable plumbing.
Our completed scene, side-by-side with the original, gained LAIKA over 8 million views on their Tik-Tok channel and 1.5 million views on Instagram.
Matriarch
Disny/Hulu
As the FX Department on this horror feature we delivered around 200 shots, from VFX animation, shooting and compositing additional MUFX elements onto actors, cleanup, and creating the film's grand finale featuring a 15ft earth goddess, shot on a miniature version of the 30ft greenhouse build.
Working closely with prosthetics designer Sangeet Prabharker and his team, we provided support to the MUFX dept on-set as well as building some bespoke blood line rigs.
